What is a Tek screw?
Tek screws, also known as self-drilling screws, are becoming the go to fixing for roofing and cladding applications. The tip of a Tek screw, known as the drill tip, has a small cutting face at the end of the screw. The drill tip is used to establish a small hole in the roofing sheet by first tapping the screw against the sheet before driving it in, this provides a better starting point for drilling the screw. It also saves time by eliminating the need to pre-drill a hole before installing a fixing.
